MST for MSI developed using AAME..

Hi Guys,

I'm having a question running in mind.. thought i could could put it here and get some advice..

Can we create a transform for AAME developed MSI.. will it affect the application in any means..

Hiya, personally I think it will be fine as long as you dont screw with MSI logic too much. It will all come out in the wash/testing.

I don't think that will be a problem. I have added an extra registry value to the msi itself and that worked for me. So I think the same goes for changes applied with a mst. The msi is merely a wrapper for the legacy setup from Adobe.

Thanks alot for your inputs. every is fine for me too except one.
the problen i'm facing is .. i need to add certain preference files in to user profile. so i included active setup also. when logging in to user i got an error that this process requires administrative privileges..  i think some of the custom action requires administrative privilege..

apart from this every is just fine...

  • Do you want to add the preferences under user profile file or in HKCU hive in registry? You have to check if the user have modify right in that location and if not, then you have to set the necessary rights for user before to add the preferences. You can do this from the same script. - terebent 11 years ago
