Restricted software from Service Desk

Hello,

I have some trouble when i'm trying to restrict some software from the user library.

I have created one label named "Computer - MAC" and then I attributed it to my mac.

In the user download section I put the same label on my software:

Only the user who are using a computer with the "Computer - Mac" label should be able to use this managed installation right ?
The problem is that even with a tagged computer, the software doesn't appear in the available software list. Did I miss something ? I was thinking that checking "Also Restrict By Device Label" would do the trick but it doesn't seem to work...

I would like to do the following thing:

- PC installation are only visible for users who are connected on a PC
- MAC installation are only visible for users who are connected on a MAC

Thanks in advance

The access control labels are user labels... If you want to restrict by devices then you enable that checkbox and add device labels as well.

You are not seeing anything because you are not in a user label authorized to view that software.

You can use both users and devices labels. But enable the checkbox if you want to Also restrict by devices.

The key word here is ALSO. That means we need something before, a user label.

  • So, If I understand it's not possible to restrict only by devices. If I want to do that I also need to use users label ?

    • You need to restrict by user labels, you have the option to ALSO restrict by device label - Channeler 6 years ago
