Silent Uninstall Cisco VPN by Installshield

I'm currently using Cisco VPN client 4.03.
The silent installation method is using setup.exe /s by setup.iss file.

Now i have to upgrade it to 4.08 (setup.exe), and tried to find how to uninstall the VPN client....but still can't find the way yet.

Tried to use MSI uninstallation method....but i'm using setup.exe to install....then it's fail if using MSI uninstallation....(MsiExec.exe /uninstall {3E5562ED-69AB-4CEC-91E2-64E18EC5ACC6} /qn)

Finally, I only found that the uninstall shortcut from start menu contain this link...

C:\WINDOWS\system32\RunDll32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\engine\6\INTEL3~1\Ctor.dll,LaunchSetup "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{5624C000-B109-11D4-9DB4-00E0290FCAC5}\Setup.exe" -l0x9 VpnUninstall

But it's still ask me to click Yes or No.

Does anyone know how to uninstall? Thanks.. [:@]

Only way round this that we found was to get an Autoit script to press "Yes" as required. I dont think there is a way to remove the "Are you sure?" dialogue box.

You could try running the uninstall command you posted with the addition of the -r qualifier, i.e.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\RunDll32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\engine\6\INTEL3~1\Ctor.dll,LaunchSetup "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{5624C000-B109-11D4-9DB4-00E0290FCAC5}\Setup.exe" -l0x9 VpnUninstall -r

to record an uninstall silent response file.

Having issued the above command, work through the uninstall interactively and afterwards check the C:\WINDOWS folder. With any luck there will be a setup.iss file created there. This is your silent uninstall response file, which can be used for all future uninstallations - I usually rename it to uninstall.iss and move it from the Windows folder, but the choice is yours ...

So assuming a response file was created, you could use the following command to perform the silent uninstall by adding the -s -f1"<Path to uninstall.iss>" command line switches :

C:\WINDOWS\system32\RunDll32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\engine\6\INTEL3~1\Ctor.dll,LaunchSetup "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{5624C000-B109-11D4-9DB4-00E0290FCAC5}\Setup.exe" -l0x9 -s -f1"<Path to uninstall.iss>" VpnUninstall

I would point out that I don't have the application myself to test this out, but in principle it should work.

i know this is an old thread, but i was just working on this, and found and easier way to get around the Yes/No prompt, you can use the /QUIET switch instead of /QN

uninstalls without prompt, interaction or any UI
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
