\Windows\system32\config\system error

Hi,

I captured and deployed a WIM image using KACE (not K-Image) but after rebooting and expecting Windows to start I see this error:

"File: \Windows\system32\config\system

Status: 0xc000000f

Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt."

Can anyone help with this? Know why this error might appear? I'm yet, after 2 weeks, to successfully deploy and use an image via KACE, whether it be scripted install, K-Image, or WIM.

Answer Summary:
Needed to capture D: drive instead of C:. Capturing C:\ drive actually captures the Windows boot partition.

Thanks, I found the answer. Turns out to capture C: you need to capture D:. Capturing C actually captures the Windows boot partition (why does no one tell you this?). Anyway all good now :)

The data that Windows needs to start up and function properly are stored in the System Registry. If the registry file is missing, or corrupt (meaning that something was either changed or added incorrectly), Windows will stop functioning properly, or to stop loading altogether.

Same is the case here.
