Daily Reporting on Failed Queue Rules

I wanted to quickly write up a post on how you can quickly receive a daily e-mail when your Ticket Queue Rules are failing.  This can be especially helpful when you want to be proactive instead of reactive when something isn't consistently working.  This could be due to a change made by one of your admins or due to an update bug (these do happen!).

With that said, all you need to do is create a new rule within one of your queues.

Ticket Rules -> Choose Action -> New (SQL)

On the next box, enter in something useful such as "Report on Failed Rules" and give it an Order #.  Also include a description so you'll remember later why you made the rule. :)

Be sure to check "Enabled."

For the Select SQL:

Then you simply check the box next to "Email results" and put in the e-mail address you want these alerts to go to.  Be sure to uncheck the other boxes and set it to run Daily (recommended) along with what time you want it to run.  That's it, just hit Save.

if you're worried about getting spammed daily, not to worry.  So long as you don't have any errors, you won't get an e-mail.

I hope this helps!

Some additional information: I personally use Queue ID 1 for all of my automation tasks.  It's not a real queue, just for automation such as purging old users and reporting on daily failed queues.  I also use it to store my "templates" for other queues.  So when I create a new queue I already have the rules, I just need to duplicate and copy over to the queue, just have to make sure to update any necessary values.
