  • If you want to complettely hide the icon and software you can add REG_DWORD as name of SystemComponent and change value to 1. - Liug 12 years ago
  • You can do this within Kace by creating a regedit and deploying it to all machines.

    reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Kace networks kbox" - ohiosoundguy 12 years ago
  • You can also install the agent with this switch:

    ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1

    example:

    msiexec /i ampagent-5.3.53177-x86.msi /qn ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1

    Some other installer switches you can set as well:

    HOST=hostname - sets the hostname
    debug=true - enables debugging
    NOHOOKS=1 - removes the login hooks for on boot and login agent actions.
    CLONEPREP=1 - installs without generating KUID; used for imaging
    INSTALLLOCATION=c:\program files\dell\kace - allows you to specify the agent installation directory. - brucegoose03 11 years ago
  • I need help with a problem. My computer at work now has Dell KACE Agent installed on my computer. The company I work for has had it installed for a year now, but I just found out about it today. How can I modify the program so they aren’t spying on me? I do not want anyone to have the power to look at what I’m doing on my computer at any given moment. Can anyone tell me how I can maybe set up an alert that tells me when someone is watching, or set it to something else to somehow block the people on the other end from seeing? I know I can’t delete the program from my computer because they would know… Any advice? - AreaMan1983 9 years ago
    • The computer belongs to the company so they can do whatever they want.
      Ethically you should not be doing anything on the computer you would not want them to know about. - jwanner@myersind.com 9 years ago
  • Hello Areaman,'

    What you tell me is really an ethical question. Having the K1000 agent is not necessarily spying on you, Mainly the agent on your computer allows for an inventory update: Applications on your system, etc. It is also used to push software and security patch updates to your system, depending on how yiour company uses our product.

    Of course there are other uses that I will not get into as you are obviously an end user.

    My reccomendation is that you contact your IT Department so they can tell you exactly what they use the KACE agent for. Each company and environment is different so it is hard to say. - KACE_Mary 9 years ago
