To work around this issue, you can use the Group Policy Editor to revert to a pre-Vista authentication method:

1. Click on the Start Menu Orb.

2. Type "gpedit.msc" into the "Start Search" box and press Enter.

3. Navigate to the following setting group:

Local Computer Policy

-> Computer Configuration

-> Windows Settings

-> Security Settings

-> Local Policies

-> Security Options

4. Find the "Network security: LAN Manager authentication level" policy and change the value to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated."
