Location: Downtown Portland, OR

5-7 years experience as a Software Packager/Install Engineer with emphasis on repackaging and automating software installations for Enterprise delivery methods.

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems Platforms (XP, XP 64-bit, Vista, Win 7, 2000 server, 2003 server, and 2008 server) is required.

Well experienced in repackaging applications and security updates using professional packaging tools such as flexera Admin Studio or Wise Package Studio.

Strong understanding of Windows Installer Technology, self-healing, Custom Actions, MSI conflict resolution and ICE validation.

Experience in automating installations in restricted user environments such as those implementing the principal of least privilege.

Experience automating installations for Enterprise delivery methods such as Microsoft SMS, Microsoft SCCM, AD GPO, Novell ZenWorks and HP Radia.

Proficient with scripting languages used in packaging/deploying applications such as VB and related WSH technology, CMD shell or others.

Experience configuring and troubleshooting a wide range of desktop software and components.

Experience developing solutions leveraging Microsoft Best Practices such as using Win32 APIs to dynamically determine special folder paths.

Ability to work independently with minimum guidance and supervision.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong team player with ability to work in a team and as individual contributor.

Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a rapidly evolving environment

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop solutions to automate or repackage internally developed and third-party software applications and tools for delivery using Enterprise management solutions.

Create and modify vendor install packages using professional packaging tools such as Flexera Admin Studio or Wise Package Studio. Provide innovative solutions using professional packaging tools and scripting languages such as VB Script, WSH and batch files for restricted or 'locked down' environments.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
