...or a faulty script accidentally launched\tested on a host machine instead of VM ;)
To get rid of this you would need to do some research, for example verify if 8E08 files are still creating (then you could use ProcMon to get the process name responsible for files creation).
As jboling noticed it may be some kind of virus/malware/ransomware. You could try to scan your computer with anti-virus/anti-malware app.
If 8E08 replaces files on a hard drive I could guess it is a ransomware. - rad33k 7 years ago
