Active Directory Schema - Adding pre-existing attribute to user object

09/05/2013 4219 views

I know this isn't imaging related, but was hoping there were some AD gurus out there. We are operating on an AD 2003 system running at a 2000 function level and I need to make visible/usable the "division" attribute for the User object.

I've got my MMC going with the Schema plugin and I've read through several obscure Microsoft pages of documentation, but I'm not trying to add a custom entry or even edit a pre-existing. I just want to make visible and usable the "division field already present.

I have attached a screenshot of what I'm takling about, but I need confirmation as to if this is the correct way to make the change, and how would it effect the Domain negatively if any? Thank you!
