Add Multiple membership resources

I am new to SCCM 2007, I only had a week of training from a guy that left the company.  I am learning as I go at this point and been learn from the internet. Please bear with me.

Is there a way to add multiple membership resource(ex. Jsmith%, jjones%, etc…) all at once to a collection created?  I have 2,521 user that I need to add to this collection and it is very tedious inputting one by one user with “Create Direct Membership Rule Wizard”.

It is not advised to base a collection on user account name, even with wildcards...

Collection are made up with WQL what is basicly SQL.
So you can use the AND operator to include others queries.
But you can base a collection on:
* AD group membership
* Machine name/ip
* Perhaps installed software.
* Windows (versioning of 32/64 bit)
And many more and combinations, give me more detail on who/what you want to target?

To give you an example, we have application assigned to AD groups.
So a 1 line admin can just add the user to that group so the user get the application.

Update, if for an application the collection looks for that installed softeware.
If lets say a service pack, is deployed to all Windows 7 32 bit machine.
