APP V 4.6 and Photoshop Elements 8.0

Trying to sequence up this app. The organizer works but the editor calls for a reboot, yet during the sequence process it does not ask for a reboot.

Anyone come across this?

adminstudio has some flexnet merge modules. maybe they do the trick.. if no configuration is needed for it.

Strange but I don't recall the need for a reboot when I tried to virtualize PSE8. Creating the package didn't seem to be a problem but when we tried to run the program we got an error relating to licensing. It didn't happen for users with admin rights so we thought it could be down to restrictions on student accounts. We had several people working on this for more hours than I can remember but we never manged to get it working. In the end I gave up & installed the program on the individual machines [:(]

Hello out there

I'm new in here! Im an IT Pro from a profession school campus in switzerland. I tried to sequence PSE8 with App-V too. It was App-V 4.5.2 not 4.6 but i got the same problem. Ive tried a lot of things and also made a script which should boot the license service as admin (little tool RunAsPC) (even if the user hasn't this rights). But i still got the same licensing error after it.
I thought the main problem was, that it isnt a volume license key that i used for sequencing. I didn't even know if there exists a volume license for this program, in fact that its mostly for home users and not for companies... there is photoshop cs4 or cs5 (or what number it will be in future) for companies adobe would think?! i gave it up after hours of testing and resequencing. Also i think that adobe simply sucks in coding for windows.
Maybe someone will make it to seq pse with app-v in the future... still some hope :)

have a nice week out there!

And remember: fight the oil or our world will boil!!!!

Had the same problem here. I have come up with a solution, but it's really dirty....you have to throw best practice out the window. When Photoshop 8 installs, it also installs the FLEXnet License Service", which is what requires the reboot. What I had to do to get this sequenced is:

1) BEFORE sequencing, install Photoshop 8 > reboot > Uninstall Photoshop 8. This gets the FLEXnet License service installed and running
2) Ensure the service is running, if it isn't running, force it started.
3) Sequence Photoshop 8.

Now while this gets the app sequenced, the fun isn't over yet. If you push your new Virtual Photoshop 8 to a computer with no FLEXnet License service, the license errors return. So, at this point I am trying to find an installer for the FLEXnet License server to push out first. Failing that, I may have to install, then uninstall photoshop in my master images....I know, its dirty.

Frankly I am getting really tired of Adobe and their randomly designed installers. Some download as MSI, some as EXE (to get the MSI, you have to run the EXE and dig into the hard drive to find the msi). Some are easy to create silent installers, and some (Creative Suite) are damn near impossible. Now, we have this FLEXnet License server to contend with in photoshop.
