Best Practice for the a new office across the globe

The company I work for, which is based in the USA, is putting together an office in India. I'll need to build about 35 Dell desktops laptops. I'm curious if you folks have any tips for making this workable and efficient with the K2000.
My first thought was to set up an RSA in the India office right off the bat so I could do a scripted install of all of the machines in short time. Then I noticed the RSA took almost 11 hours to sync just to our CA office. Using this method I'd lose an entire day.
I suppose images on flash drives are my best bet?

Yes. Using a local imaged installation is probably the best bet. It's just too much data to transfer over the internet to be time efficient. I would create a sysprepped image and use Clonezilla to capture it, then send that out to India for redistribution.
The more complicated solution would be to create a replication server out in India to sync with your local KBOX.

I would recommend that you eventually set up an RSA at your office in India. Yes, the RSA will take a long time to perform its initial sync, but it will be great to have that in place for future installs/rebuilds/recoveries. Additionally, any updates you make on your K2000 in the home office will sync down to the India automatically. You won't have to deal with sending updated images on USB flash drives every time there is a change to your install. - asanchez 11 years ago
