Boot Device Not Available

I have an old Precision 490 that I want to deploy Windows 7 to.  The system finds my K2000 but then I get "selected boot device not available -- strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility".  There is no BIOS upgrade to this system (nothing above A08).

I am trying to capture the sysprepped image on this machine.

By the way, I can PXE boot other computers.

I think I found my answer -- the BIOS is too old so I'll need to install the OS manually.

  • You could create a USB KBE and boot to the environment like that:
