Can Kace patch Windows 7 after EOS

We have purchased an ESU contract with Microsoft and currently we are using WSUS. Apparently I'd have to touch each computer to update the activation key. I'm wondering if I could disable WSUS and set up a patching schedule in Kace and get the same patches that we'd get through Microsoft Updates. Bear in mind, we have purchased the extended support... I'd just like to avoid having to update each PC in our organization with the activation key in order to continue patching these computers.

Thanks!

you need to update all system license keys in order to be able to patch W7 with SMA 10.x
There is no way around.

  • As far as I know, you should be able to update the license keys with a KACE script, however. - chucksteel 4 years ago
  • Installing the key itself via script is pretty easy, however there are 4 patches which you have to have installed on the systems before the key will apply.

  • Thanks everyone for the input. I'll look into using Kace to push the MAK to the clients. - westa 4 years ago
