Can you edit a smart label after creation without going into the SQL?

When creating a smart label in the K1000, there is an easy workflow with logic like "Title contains x" or "Operating System = Windows", but once it has been created and you click Edit, it seems the only way you can edit the smart label is by typing in new SQL.

That's great if you work with SQL all the time, but I'm not such a priveleged individual, and I only know extremely basic SQL. Shouldn't there be a way to edit the smart label the same way it was created, where you can see live search results and make sure what you're selecting returns the results you want?

Unless it's changed in 5.5, no, you would have to either modify the label in SQL or recreate it entirely.

Actually yes, in v5.5 smart labels created with the wizard can be re-edited. The "original" editor is the wizard and "this editor" is the direct SQL code...

  • I, too, thought this was the case. The rule of thumb (seems) to be: Make it with a wizard, edit it with a wizard. Make it with the wizard, edit it with SQL, then you can't go back to wizard form. - Wildwolfay 10 years ago
    • Makes sense - if you modify the SQL directly it could potentially include things the wizard can't handle. I'm glad this feature was added to 5.5, though! - Ultimation 10 years ago
