Deploying Acrobat 6.01 with GPO using MSIEXEC switches

I have pulled the Adobe MSI package out and also used the Adobe tuner to create a transform file. However when I create a GPO to deploy Adobe to a particular OU, I don't see anywhere to put in the /qb /i switches I want for an unattended install. How do I do this, or don't I even need switches?

You don't need those switches. Just put the package and its appropriate transform file into the GPO and away you go.

Ok I tried exactly that, and setup a new test OU and created the GPO to push the software to the computers in the OU upon login. I used 'Assigned'. When I add a computer to the OU and log in, nothing happens. I also created a GPO for Office2003 but I can't get anything to install at all. Any secrets to getting this to work?

Hi A-Baum,
do your computers have the "apply group policy" right set in the security tab of your GPO? Best practice would be, to have your PC's in seurity group and have this right applied to it.

Do your event logs on the target computers report anything abou the install? Also, Fast Logon Optimization on XP Workstations can delay the install of the application until a 2nd reboot. Article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305293 describes this.
