Does Windows 7 has Volume Licenses?
We are trying to deploy Windows 7 to 100+ computers, those computers came with Windows 7 Professional System, but we reformatted them to Windows XP and now we have to reformat them again to Win7 Pro.
We plan to deploy the systems with KACE, here comes the question; we do not have a volume license key for Windows 7,
1. Called our software supplier and found out that there is no volume license for Windows 7
2. Contacted Microsoft, saying there should be the license and you can purchase from the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/how-to-buy/default.aspx

Licensing Windows 7 is not a simple process. I highly recommend you discuss this with a Microsoft Sales Engineer or reseller. Even the folks at Microsoft Volume Licensing tend to get it wrong. Here is a link to a great resource that discussing reimaging machines that came with OEM licenses. We use a KMS Host in our domain and it works great with Win7 Pro (32 and 64 bit), Server 2008 R2 and Office 2010.

Use this VAMT or here is some scripts to help with licensing.

If the machines came with Windows 7, I'm assuming your using OEM licensing. The thing with OEM is they sell you a key on top of the computer. That's not the same key the manufacturer uses at the factory. What you could do is use a key finder on a machine that came from the factory (or if you have one of the special install cds that don't require a key). After you run the key finder, you should be able to run that on all machines from that vendor.

Thank you Guys for all the helps,
I have called the Volume License team, they suggested that we can use one of the CDs that come wiht the computer, and use this image to build all the machine, which should work.
We have also purchased 6 Windows 7 Professional Licenses from the shop, there is no MAK or KMS keys, I suppose there must be some difference between Professional and Enterprise version.
I will give you guys some updates when I get more information.

There are a couple of ways that come to mind to deploy licences for windows 7. You can use MAK which is 1 key that can be activated multiple times or you can host a KMS server and activate your win 7 clients against KMS. I am not sure about windows 7 pro with KMS but i know that there is certainly the MAK version and i know that KMS can activate windows 7 enterprise.

Just another few cents into this. We used Win 7 Pro KMS and MAK licensing for a year or so before moving to enterprise. The trick is meeding the requirements for it, ie, KMS requires minimum of 5 servers and 25 client machines activating through it.

There is no volume software as known with windows xp.
You should set up a kms server to activate (min 25 clients) or use mak keys.
To get the keys, contact a software vendor. (dell for instance)
