Export or move an ActiveX controller.

I found an activeX controller in IE9 on Comp1. Now I need to have that controller installed on Comp2.
The vendor is no more in business.

On Comp1 in IE9 there is information. The ActiveX controller points to one .inf file and one .dll file, on C drive.
I took the two files and put them on Comp2 C drive.

I installed the .inf file on Comp2, but that didn´t do the trick. Then I used Regsvr32 on the .dll file. That didn´t
do the trick either. On Comp2 the ActiveX controller is still absent, in IE9.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? Is there anyway I can export or move the controller from Comp1,
so that it is present on Comp2 as well?

Thank you guys for your effort.
Now the problem is solved, a new vendor provided me with a .cab file that had
all the necessary files within. :)

In the inf does it reference any other files? What you did should work, copy and regsvr32 the dll.

It is pretty unusual for a control with only on dependancy to have an inf file. My guess is there are more dependancies which you have missed. Reg entries other files, ock, dll etc.

Post the contents of the .inf file and maybe we can help.
