11/09/2019 174 views

I need to export BIOS setting of Dell models as I had mentioned to other dell laptops that we have, anyone knows how to that, I mean export and then import ?

Is there any specific tool or application, or we can do it in BIOS ?

You can use the DCCU (or DCCTK as it is called today)
https://www.dell.com/support/article/de/de/debsdt1/sln143145/how-to-install-use-dell-client-configuration-toolkit?lang=en

You can read out the BIOS settings with it and also deploy it to devices.

  • I have this tool but I dont know how to restore the back that I took with the tool, I want to restore the bios backup inside the bios not on in windows !
    • well, there is no tool you can use directly in the BIOS to do so. You can go to Dell and urgently request one.
      • So it means I need to set all my BIOS settings one by one !
    • You can create an exe file out of the previous settings and run this exe in WinPE (if you dont want to install a Windows OS on this devices)

I use that for my SDA deployment and set the BIOS passwords with and a few additional settings before starting the deployment.
      • I tried it in WinPE but I got this error massage: The Subsystem needed to support the image type is not present.
        Any idea what is this?
      • you are using the wrong os version of the softtware the tool has to be the x64 for x64 winpe and x86 for x86 winpe you cannot use x86 tools with x64 winpe
