Systems Deployment

I've been working with Ghost for some time now but I'm a bit new to the Console interface and it's capabilities. I've had success with software distribution through tasks, but I keep hitting a wall with Scheduled Tasks. Is there any way to have a software package distribute to a client when the client logs in and is there a way to have that occurance logged accurately? I am trying to deploy software in a way that favors the client's workflow, instead of forcing them to take an update when I send it out. Any help is appreciated...
