Do you have specific questions? We have implemented some license tracking using KACE. You can also reach out to Dell for training. They had one of their trainers work with a technician here to setup license tracking.

  • Do have some specific questions for software:

Concurrent License software, what's the best method of tracking this? We currently are using AutoDesk and we're using Concurrent User licensing services.

Adobe Creative Cloud, how do we determine the difference between a complete suite versus the individual applications within the suite? In regards to licensing.

Subscriptions, what's the best method for that?

In Software Catalog, Expiration: Does it track the expiration of software from the Expiration Date field within the license asset?

Approved for Device section: If a computer has been selected, can it be unselected without selecting another computer?
  • Web based applications? How do we track those with Software Catalog? If not I assume we use the Software Asset.

Scenario. We purchase Adobe Acrobat via a volume license program (CLP), and I install them, but I also have Adobe Acrobat on computers that were purchased as part of Creative Suite/Cloud. I would like to be able to rack goth variations in KACE.

Now I can probably do that with just the assets License & Software, but how would I be able to incorporate that with Software Catalog?

I can't tell, in License asset, which Software Catalog software to associate to, when I have multiple entries with the same name, even though they are for different platforms.
