Systems Management Question

How can I see admin activity

08/21/2019 350 views

One of the admins made a change to our network settings in KACE a few days ago. Is there a log file where I can see this activity and determine who made the change? How do I access this?

Thanks for the help.

You may be able to look at Settings -> History

  • In history - check under "subscriptions- settings" to see if you have network history tracking enabled.
    • Thank you. There are eighteen options to choose from. There isn't one that says Network History Tracking specifically. How do I view this information that is being retained?
      • Do you have multi orgs. if so that is under system Settings › History › Settings History Configuration "network settings" click on pencil and select all
      • I do not have multiple orgs at this time. I did find the setting right where you said it is. I do have that one selected and all the check boxes are checked. It says that all 19 fields are retained. Can I see this data that is being retained? Thanks again.
      • if they were already checked you should be able to see the change under history go to reporting - settings and what occurred,

if you just checked them they are now enabled for future history tracking under that page
      • That's where it is. Settings/History/Reporting/Settings Now I can see who did what. Thank you so much.
      • I would not tell others you enabled this. most people do not realize the tracking exists. Any admin can go in here and delete the entry of the change they made elsewhere if they want to cover their tracks
      • If you enable multi org even with a single org it gives you the ability to lock down the root settings at system level and give other admins only rights to the one org to stop them from messing with the system level configuration settings.
