How do I add a field to KACE?

Good Afternoon -

I am working on an asset tagging project for our company, and I need implement a process for identifying and managing hardware assets.

KACE is currently deployed on the network.  I am thinking I could utilize a barcode solution that would identify assets using tags that contain a number separate and distinct from the serial number.  In this case, ideally and if possible, I could create an additional field for each asset so that when an asset within KACE's inventory is selected, the asset tag number would appear as an entry in that field.

Can an additional line item be created within the "Summary" section of the "Inventory" selection within KACE, and could this same field be updated with the respective asset tag number when the tag's barcode is scanned?  Please advise.  Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best Regards,

Area IV

I would recommend adding your field to the Computer Asset Type (Assets, Asset Type, Computer). The only way to add this to the Inventory records summary page would be to have Quest perform a customization for you (they will charge for this).

The asset data will be shown at the bottom of the inventory record, not as convenient, but still there.

We have not been able to modify the Inventory Summary section as customers. If there are no Notes that field doesn't appear in the Summary but if there is a Note saved for that device, it shows in the Summary so the basic capability is there. Modifying that would need to be a New Feature Request on Quest KACE User Feedback UserVoice (https://kace.uservoice.com/) before it gets developed.
