How to delete HKCR from this hive reg delete "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\Personalize"
Hi,
i Got an application which i need to delete the reg from "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\Personalize".When i give this path in cmd it promting an erros as "access is deneid" please let me know from ur end

if are using regedit, right click on the keyset "personalize" and choose permissions. first take ownership and then add administrators full control to the set.

You could also script that. You could use regini.exe to specify the desired permissions followed by a regdelete. Just be sure to run the script with a user that has sufficient rights to change the registry permissions. The account 'System' should be a good identity to start with. - EVEEN 10 years ago

The HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT key provides a view of the registry that merges the information from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
So to delete this key, try deleting the key in HKLM or HKCU.
