How to Deploy MS Project 2007 in Kace1000

I am trying to push MS Project 2007 in Kace1000. This is what I have done so far:

1.       Created .msp and saved it under updates folder

2.       Zipped the MS Project folder with all the files and uploaded in KACE.

3.       I tried running setup.exe in command line and it works fine without requiring key etc.

I have tried the following parameters/commands in KACE but nothing seems to be working.

1.       Setup.exe

2.       Setup.exe  /adminfile \\servername\custom.msp

3.       Setup.exe  /adminfile custom.msp

4.       Setup.exe /config \\servername\...\prjstd.ww\config.xml

5.       Setup.exe /qn

6.       Setup.exe /s

Nothing seems to be working. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Answer Summary:
Open the folder and zip the contents up along with the msi package. Then you will have to use the radial button to configure manually and call the setup.exe /admin (name of msp). you shouldn't need to put the pathway as long as the msp file is in the same spot as the .exe.

Did you zip the folder it was in or just the contents?  Also, the .msp file should be at the root of the zip file with setup.exe.

The MI will be pretty similar to this: http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/how-to-setup-a-managed-installation-of-office-2007

  • i zipped the folder. Also, .msp file is at the root of zip file with setup.exe. I already followed the link you provided but it doesn't work for me. It shouldn't be this hard. I know I am making a basic mistake. - khanman74 11 years ago

    • This is right, I should have worded it better. - jknox 11 years ago
  • Thanks Shah and Knox. After zipping the content, it worked. - khanman74 11 years ago
  • This same method worked for me to deploy office 2010. It took me a little while to figure out the exact syntax to make it work the way I wanted to, but it's been easy doing this since. - GeekSoldier 11 years ago
