How to Hide Labels in Inventory Table

I have 200 devices in our inventory and all of them have smart labels. Today, I added a manual label to a small portion of our devices so that we can detect and deploy patches to a small group. When I applied the label and the inventory table reloaded, all labels applied to each device appeared on the table in the device name column in brackets. They were not there before. Now each one has a minimim of two labels. So instead of a clean view of the device name, it is full of text that makes it harder to read and quickly find a device in the table. So I have three questions:
1) Why did applying a manual label make all labels appear?
2) How can I hide them again?
3) How can I prevent them from appearing again if I apply another label to one or more devices whether manually or automatically?

Example:
Device Name column examples before
Computer1
Computer2
Computer3

Device Name column examples after:
Computer1 [labeltype1:labelname1, labeltype2;labelname2, labeltype3:labelname3]
Computer2 [labeltype1:labelname1, labeltype2;labelname2, labeltype3:labelname3]
Computer3 [labeltype1:labelname1, labeltype2;labelname2, labeltype3:labelname3]

EDIT: I closed my browser when I stepped out of my office. When I later logged back into KACE, the label were gone. I would like to know what controls them from appearing. I am not sure yet what causes them to appear or disappear.

You should be able to go under Choose Action | Hide labels.

I would also love to know the answer to how I can prevent this from showing. It's driving me nuts!
