How to modify Skype initialization to "compact" mode?

06/24/2014 2084 views

Hello guys, here am i again :)

Let me explain the environment first:

My company has a rule which blocks all msn related contents (such as ads, Hotmail inbox, msn News, etc). The problem is, everytime Skype updates, i need to disable this rule, modify the Skype window to "compact mode", which shows only the contacts Window (without the "Skype Home" Window) in about 300 machines...

Is there any way i can modify it by registry (or any other faster way), so i wouldn't need to keep on disabling and enabling my rules everytime it updates.

Thanks for the help and please, forgive me for any typos.

Sincerely,

Bruno

Solved!!!

Skype stores it's configurations at "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Skype"

Inside the Skype folder, there's a folder with the user's Skype Login Name.

Inside that folder there's a "config.xml" document which contains all the configurations for the window.

If we add the line:   <MultiWindowMode>1</MultiWindowMode>

Inside the <General> </General>  tag and restart Skype, it'll open only the contacts window (the "Skype Home" window will be supressed).

Changing 1 to 0 turns it back to normal.

I hope it can help someone else someday hehe

Thanks guys.

Sincerely,

Bruno
