how to package excel addin application?

I have an application and after installation. In prgramfiles\(application name) there is an .xla file. Does that mean my application is an addin application and if it is so. Please help me how to package it? and there is a shorcut pointing to that .xla file and while building the application it shows an error that because for that shortcut icon i have browsed the xla file and it is not able to extract icon from xla file. Please help me?

When there is a shortcut for the .xla file in application itself, then you can go ahead with it..

No need to integrate it with excel as addin..

Icon will be apperaed if Microsoft office is already available on the machine

  • I created msi and installed but icon is not comming up. It shows a white paper as icon. - vinodreddy10 11 years ago
