How to stop self-healing looping ?

when I use Active Setup, it does self-healing, but if it tries to do everytime the app gets opened, is there any way to stop it, so that, it only works for the first time if any user opens it and not for the second time and onwards for that particular user? Is there any particular custom action or script that I need to incorporate in the MST ! Thanks in advance for any answer.

Check the Event Log after a run. There will be an error raised for the component in question, with the Component ID shown as part of the description. My guess would be that the target path - be that a folder or a registry key - is permissioned in some way to disallow the user access.

Active setup only runs once. The advertised shortcut may be self healing all the time.

Rest as suggested by VBScab.
