How to strip an image in an email signature from tickets?

Most of our tickets are submitted via email and most of them use the standard company email signature which includes the company logo. We recently ran into an issue with KACE discarding incoming attachments because of folder limitations. This has been solved temporarily by deleting some old tickets, but I figure I can reduce about 80% of the ticket attachments by excluding the signature image to begin with. Is this possible? If so, how might it be accomplished?

I am currently using K1000 v6.2.

  • Look at the HD_ATTACHMENT table using MySQL Workbench. That is where they are all listed. I do not know if deleting the table entry will delete the actual file though. If it does all you need to do is create a ticket rule to search for specific name and delete them from the table. - h2opolo25 9 years ago
  • I asked Kace support about this and received the expected, "you can pay us to develop this feature for you" response. I was also concerned about our users replying to tickets via email and having the original message text AND the new information all getting added as a new update to the ticket. They said there was nothing they could do about that, but our current system strips out the previous message text so I don't know why Kace can't.. - Chris.Burgess 9 years ago
    • I was afraid of that. Kace could be such a great platform... *sigh* - tdickinson 9 years ago
    • Welcome to KACE where the standard answer seems to be "It's broken by design". Just a FYI it's $250 an hour if you want them to do something for you, with no real guarantee of results. - h2opolo25 9 years ago
