How to tell if a laptop has an active broadband card in it

Is there a way to tell if a laptop has an active broadband card? We get the laptops with the broadband card, but not all of them are activated. Does anyone have a script or something that can detect this?


The drivers and software would be on the system even if it does not have an active card.
