I *presume* you mean that you first tried to record the installation using the native InstallShield installer but, when that failed, you decided to capture the installation to an MSI using Wise Package Studio?

You have said "..unable to do this" which, as a description of a problem, is about as much as use as trying to use a UK train timetable. *WHY* are you unable to capture the installation? After all, applications are just a bunch of files and registry data - there's no magic involved!

  • This application has some problems. There are two parts, One is installation and Second is Configuration. There is no problem with installation part. Anyhow I could manage to do the installation, but during configuration it creates problems. It creates some files and store computer name in few DAT files. As I need to deploy the pacakge to mulitple systems, so I can't leave the same computer name in DAT file for each machine where pacakge is getting deployed.

I have tried to capture the configuration part but don't konw how to play with that DAT file so when I deploy the package, in DAT file the computer name get changed/replaced according to the system where it's getting installed.

Configuration settings:

Copy this file from a working system and then drop it in post-install

C:\Program Files\NICE_IEX_WFM\totalview\configuration\config.ini

Install strings from my VBS script for this are abbreviated but you'll get the idea.
"\sdp$\IEX\4.6_CP9\WFM-4.6-100931-win32.exe"

"-i silent -f"

"\sdp$\IEX\4.6_CP9\W7installer.properties
