Installing apps on iOS (KACE Cloud MDM)

Hi,

I am using the trial version of KACE Cloud MDM (trying to find an alternative to MaaS360) and I want to be able to push out apps, but I'm getting a "Please log in to your iTunes Store account." when trying to install them through polices.

Is there a way to bypass the iTunes sign in so my users can't download unauthorized apps but still install them from the MDM portal?

Thanks in advance. ✌

Hi DerekDoug,

You can bypass the iTunes sign in by "purchasing" the apps (even though they're free) through Apple's Volume Purchase Program (VPP) and sync them with KACE Cloud MDM.  Apps purchased through VPP do not require an iTunes account.

Hope this helps!

  • This worked!

    Thank you.

I guess I should make a separate thread but I'm thinking I might want to sign in so users don't get the pop-up, is there a way to have the device sign in to Apple ID through KACE? or should I make a new question? - DerekDoug 4 years ago
    • You can make a new thread if you want just so there is an official answer to the question, but the answer is "no". A user must sign in with an Apple ID on the device. There is no way to remotely sign in. - rodney.willis 4 years ago
