Is online shell scripts the best way to run commands on a Mac vs kscripting

With MAC OSX upgrades to Mojave, the traditional ways to run scripts through root are restricted, is online shell scripts the best way to run commands like mapping Windows Server network drives or or making configuration changes like screensaver times?

Mapping drives should be done at the user context level.

Configuration changes should be done using profiles, ideally with a proper MDM solution.
