Is the KACE GO Mobile App Free with v10? Has Anyone Used the Mobile App?

I've just discovered KACE has a Mobile App with barcode scanning for asset and inventory management. Can anyone share their experience of using the app?

This would ease the process of performing physical audits to find new or existing assets and load the data into KACE. Particularly if you are managing assets in multiple office or data centre locations.

Is the app FREE to use with KACE SMA K1000 v10 or is there a service charge?

Hi Den15e,

the app is free of charge. The only thin you need to do is to enable the API in your settings. I have auploaded an very old video here: https://quest.app.box.com/v/kace/file/197956111049

Kind Regards

Timo

  • Thanks for the details Timokirch. Unfortunately I can't view the video due to security restrictions :-(
Do you have any experience using the App you could share with me? - DEN15E 4 years ago
    • Sure,
in short. The app enables admins and endusers to use the servicedesk & knowledgebase. Based on the role which is assign to the user these users can also do asset management (with barcode scanning & bulk editing), inventory, start softwaredeployments, run scripts or see monitoring alerts.

      Kind Regards

it is a cool app.
You have the service desk as main feature, asset management etc.

A potential way of usage is (outside of: the engineer is on tour in the datacenter and can review, update and solve the ticket with his mobile phone or importing assets into the asset management) is:
you are in holidays and sitting on the hotel bar and enjoying a nice drink.
Your boss calls you because he urgently needs VLC installed. It is that important that it cannot wait until it is done.
So you simply say: yes, of course, take a sip of the drink, add his machine to the prepared MI and push it. Then your phone moves again into your pocket. And a week later you are the hero that the install was done even when you were in holidays ;)
