Software Deployment Question

Is there any one who created package for ThomsonReuters Endnote?

10/27/2013 2773 views

It is vendor msi and as per install instructions it is mentioned to uncheck "Make Endnote as default citation manager".

So i have created resonce transform and uncheck that as shown in install instrcutions..

i edited mst and fount that a property is deleted as i have unchecked it.

But when i install the msi along with mst still that option is not unchecked.

I verified in log file and found that that property is added again automatically.

please let me know how to resolve this,..

Open the MSI in Installshield or whatever and check for a Custom Action (CA), I have a feeling this might be doing it.

Also, instead of using a response transform, install the product with logging as per normal. Then look for the property change instead - i think this is a cleaner way of doing it. If your having trouble find the property, install the product with it enabled, then compare the two logs files with notepad++, or your preferred comparing software.
