K1000 - Change Server for Agent

Hi,

We currently have the KACE agent deployed internally and have the MSI package pointing to the internal DNS name. We want to switch this over to a Public DNS name.
1) Is there a way to change the existing agents from  say kbox.domain.local to kbox.companyname.com?
2) Do we need to rebuild the MSI package for external DNS name?

Thanks

  • Thank you Nico_K. This is probably off topic but I'm hoping you can help with this as well.

We have 3 orgs currently in place is it possible to build 3 different MSI packages to automatically join those devices into their respective ORG? If not how can this be accomplished? - anonymous_104535 9 years ago
    • use org filters in system area to separate the boxes into their proper orgs. - SMal.tmcc 9 years ago
    • since 11.0 this works with the correct agent token - Nico_K 2 years ago

Run a script via the KACE:Launch $(KACE_APP_DIR)\amptools.exe with params “-resetconf host=xxx token=yyy.
Please be aware that this needs a bit time, since the agent will be stopped, the amp.conf will be rewritten and the agent will be restarted. This changes the host inside the installed agents. For the future you need to change the msi

*Changes 2021-09-03* Since 11.0 you also need to provide the token (for the org you need or a global one) if you want to reset the configuration
