K1000 - Duplicate entries for a single patch with random string at the end.

Does anyone know why these patches show up duplicated over and over?

I believe they are not duplicated, they are needed,

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-update/installed-updates-listed-multiple-times/5f80abcc-eba9-4c47-94aa-ef7721794472?page=4

Some guys that use WSUS to patch are seeing similar thing:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a0790b7e-7731-4789-b4e3-0fa90096bb62/duplicate-updates-with-same-exact-title-and-kb-show-up-in-sccm-console?forum=configmanagersecurity

I'm thinking the string at the end, is to be able to differentiate them somehow.

Comments:
  • Looks like they are different language versions if you do a download and compare the file names from the update catalog: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4011610 - jones948 6 years ago
