K1000 service desk customization

Running on Kace k1000 5.4sp1

I have problems with K1000 Service Desk customization where i want to create a custom field with the field type set to User.

 

The problem is that if I create the custom field as above, the problem at the USER end will be

After i change the custom field permission to user modify, i can get a better output which is

this is okay for the end user but when it comes to User who approve tickets, i will have the same problem on the Approving side

  • This is something I am dealing with as well in that the "Approver" only will get access to modify custom fields when they are also the "Submitter" of the ticket or an "Owner". And it makes sense as Users cannot go into other Users tickets. What would be very functional is to have a new permission called "User/Approver Modify". This exact scenario is preventing us from leveraging jquery scripting against a custom field where we want to hide the custom field under certain conditions. ie we can when the Submitter = Approver, but when Submitter <> Approver the field is visible (read only). ***Please advise if a soulution is provided for you***

That looks like something you might have to submit to tech support for an answer. Have you tried sending this to them?

  • in my prev experience, theres this man who has been very helpful and very supportive when im doing upgrade to 5.4sp1. but other tech support arent able to be as supportive as him - Mr M.A - fidzul.yahya@bagnetworks.com.bn 11 years ago
