K1000 - Uninstall an application
Guys , I want to uninstall an application off a load of pcs. I have the uninstall string. Can I get my K1000 to uninstall the application ? I know how to push out an application - but I dont want to upload installed file to K1000 for an app that I dont need.

Hi,
You can uninstall the applicaton via Manage Install via selecting the 'Run command only' option and/or Uninstall option.

I cant get this to work, do you have a step by step method on doing this for add ins like ask toolbar, ilvid, bing etc - hjansari 11 years ago
Are you wanting a custom inventory, or a script.
You could always just upload a small .txt file. Then "configure manually", and "run command only". I prefer using scripts for things like this though.
I would go to Scripting -> Configuration Policy and select the Un-Installer Wizard. If you need an example, you can create an uninstaller for any software you do have installed. What it does is writes an offline kscript with the following:
In the verify section, make sure that the software is installed. You can use a registry value equals rule and find the software entries in HKLM\Software, or you can just look for a file. The uninstaller has its own method.
For the remediation section, Launch SYS\msiexec.exe with parameters /qn /{YOURUNINSTALLSTRING} from the registry.
You can see what it does by going to scripts, selecting the uninstaller you made, and click on the link to edit the policy with the editor rather than the original editor.
