KACE Product Support Question

KACE NBI with new MacBook Airs (June 2012)?

07/27/2012 3112 views

Hello all,

Has anyone gotten these machines to boot the KBOX? Our old NBI would come down to the ramdisk, but when the MBA tried to get into the NBI it would beep three times and hang at the grey screen.

I tried creating a new NBI with the latest Lion 10.7.4 on the MacBook Airs and that gave me no better result (same three beeps), we tried it on two different MBAs from the June refresh, so we're almost certain it's not the usual three beeps=bad ram error.

I'll be creating a new one this morning using Mountain Lion, and see what the results are. I guess I should have posted this after that test. But it'd be nice to know if other people are experiencing this with new MBAs and Lion NBIs.

PS. Netboot verbose mode? Anyone know how to get this the bless command with a verbose netboot doesn't give me any diagnostic information nor does holding N+V during startup.

to run verbose mode with netboot, I find it easier to start by holding down the option key to get the boot menu.  Then select the netboot image.  Press enter and then hold down cmd and V together until the black screen appears.

Make sure that you created a netboot image from this machine with the most up-to-date media, preferably the media that came on the machine, maybe from the recovery partition.
