KACE2000 - Post Installation Script with PXE USB Dongle

Hello All,

I'm trying to install Windows 10 on our new HP Elite 1012 X2 tablets. All works fine but when i add a post installation script to add the computer automatically in the domain, the deployment fail because the dongle stop working after driver installation. If i unplug and plug again the usb-gigabit dongle and restart the failed task, it automatically works.

Is there a way to pass throught this problem?

Thanks a lot for your answers,

  • Did you add the appropriate drivers to the driver store and is your image using the driver store? - chucksteel 7 years ago

you may need to add the usb 3.0 driver to the driver store under that model also.  There are drivers for this you just have to find them.  You may have to harvest them from a system that works on.  Plug the dongle into a system and make sure it works.  go to computer management - device manager find the dongle and open properties on that go to the driver tab and click on driver details.  those are the files you need.

They are also located in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\somesubdir on the system the dongle works on
