KBox Patch Deployment Query.
In "detect and deploy" schedule for deploying patches, if we are selecting machine lables under the option "Limit Run to Selected Machine Lables" then another entry in "Deploy Patch Label Selection" states "Limit Patches to Matching Machine Labels" checkbox. What is this meant for and what is its purpose?

According to the Patching and Security Guide:
"Limit Patches to Matching Machine Labels: It is recommended that you do not use this option. It is only used to provide backward-compatibility in specific rare cases."

Chucksteel is correct. You can ignore that checkbox as if it wasn't there. The Patching functions changed after 4.x and that was used for legacy users who hadn't migrated from 3.x up.
