Leftover Office 2010 Files

My msp file is setup to uninstall old office versions.  I was able to successfully push office 2013 and install.  But after it finishes uninstalling office 2010 and installing office 2013, it does NOT uninstall the "Microsoft Office 2010 tools".  I have searched everywhere and could not find a way to uninstall these files without manually doing so.

  • Can you explain the manual process you use? Are you running a command or tapping the delete key when highlighting a file or two? - vjaneczko 9 years ago

The MS Office Tools is common to 2010 and 2013 MS Office and the files are the same. If you are just worry about the shortcuts, just delete them. Or run a separate uninstall for 2010 prior to 2013 so you will only have 1 scenario to troubleshoot later on.

The tools that are left behind are part of one of the Office 2010 service pack installations so the Office 2013 installer doesn't remove them. You have to run the actual Office 2010 uninstaller to remove them completely. See this thread for more information: http://www.itninja.com/question/remotely-uninstalling-microsoft-office-2010-x32
