Our company is currently trying to set up proper license compliance so we can better monitor what licenses are being used. Throughout our network, we have roughly 5,000 computers to manage, a lot which have this software (such as Adobe's Creative Cloud) already installed.
It's my task to start betting our k1000, which I've made progress though I've hit a road-block so my boss suggested I visit ITNinja to help.
If we have software pre-existing on all of these systems (All systems properly checked into kace) can we still track it's licensing? Or is this done only when we first install the software.
I have to figure out a way to roundup all this information (which systems are using what), as well as hopefully clean up the software tab, where 10-20 entries of the same version of Google Chrome are found.
If anyone can make some suggestions, it'd be greatly appreciated.

You can use metering to track software usage on computers. Under Inventory, Software Catalog you can select titles and enable metering on them. Once software is metered you can track usage on computers. You also need to assign a label to computers where you want to meter usage. I setup a smart label that applies to all machines unless they have a "No Metering" label applied manually.
You can also use the License asset in the Assets module to enter licenses and link them to software. That will give you counts of computers that have the software installed.
