Mass Install of Image from Flash Drives?

I was just wondering if anybody has used an armful of bootable flash drives to image a lab. Where there any pitfalls? I intend to begin testing this soon, and might consider it as an alternative to booting from the network.

So far it seems that actually managing the flash drives will be an ordeal in its own right. The system images I am dealing with seem to be about 10-13GB, and the process so far seems to be:

-Get Image on KBOX
-Make sure unattend.xml is in place as we are not able to script that with KBOX (as far as I can tell)
-Click "create bootable image" and wait for the background task to create it.
-Download compressed image ~5GB, not bad a few minutes
-decompress image... this take quite a while
-install KBE on flash drive
-install image on flash drive, seems to just run xcopy, but it is a large xcopy job and takes at least an hour or so it seems

My only thoughts are to have a large group of machines available to concurrently run all these copies/decompressions/downloads.

Has anybody else tried this?
