Migrating of Applications
I'm having a doubt that whether we'll be able to migrate an application from xp to win 7 using adminstudio and is so please explain the process. taq in advance

You could run it on a Win 7 box and see what the outcome is?
The process would be booting up a Win 7 box, and launching the app.

Do you agree that we can not check the complete functionality of the application by manually launching it on a Win 7.. There should be some automated process which will check the Win 7 compatibility in all aspects.

I do agree. Since there wasn't a lot of info on the app in question, and the processes already taken the first step I would do is to run it and to actually make sure it runs. In our environment we have a ton of apps that we still support that were built 10 years ago. The first thing I do when I want to know if it works on Windows 7 is to see if it will launch on Windows 7.
I do agree with the link you posted. I'm wondering what the cost is? I've used http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7352, but since the majority of our apps our built in some guys basement these types of tools do not work for me. - dugullett 11 years ago

The biggest reason I ran into that XP apps do not work in windows 7 is unsigned drivers and they will not even install. We have tons of old apps being a college and have had to run only one in compatibility mode. We are exploring of just using a XP VM for that app that still needs xp.
