Migrating to Hosted O365

We are currently a 2007 on prem Exchange server and are migrating to hosted o365.  What do we need to change on the kbox to make this migration as smooth as possible?

  • We did same some time back. We needed to setup and SMTP relay and had to configure a connector on the O365 Portal. You'll find it in the Exchange Admin Centre under Mail Flow, Connectors. We had to set the connector to listen for email coming from our WAN address. - Druis 6 years ago

To Migrate to Office 365 you need to have the following:
  • The mailbox for the servicedesk a.k.a Alternate Email Address (this mailbox should be for exclusive use of the servicdesk)
  • POP3 and SMTP configuration
  • mx record
  • POP3 and SMTP Ports 
  • User and password belonging to the mailbox for the servicedesk
