Migrating XP packages to Windows 7
We are migrating from XP to Windows 7. Currently all our packages (~350) are developed for XP using Adminstudio and all are working fine on XP. Do we need to make any changes for these packages to run on Windows 7. Let me know what changes are required and also let me know standard best practices to be followed while migrating the packages.

You want to use a tool to get a report on Windows 7 compatiblilty of your XP packages. You mention you currently use InstallShield, so the first option I'll mention is Flexera's Admin Studio with the Compatibility Pack. Other options are Changebase from Quest (or Dell nowadays) and AppDNA from Aptitude, or Microsoft's Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT)
These tools can provide you with detailed info on issues that might cause problems running applications on Windows 7, and may also provide automated remediation.

Are you migrating to Windows 7 64 bit or 32 bit..
If it is 32 bit then most of the packages should work but you need to check for any hard coding in the package.
If it is 64-bit then a lot of things change and you might have to redo those packages.

As correctly pointed by pjgeutjens there are hundreds of tools but I would still say that you would need to have good packager or migration expert to remediate the issues for you. Let me know if you need any assistance :)
